Being a mom, you are wired to stay calm when deep inside you
want to scream and cry and panic. You
are wired to make everyone believe that all is okay when you know in your gut
something is wrong and you don’t know if it’s going to be okay. When I started to freak out just a little, I
got a text that said, “ Always stay calm so you can make appropriate
decisions.” Because that is what moms
do. We carry the burden so others don’t
have to.
About a year ago, Lily and Mia were sick with the common
cold and cough. Lily seemed to get
better day by day, whereas Mia would sometimes get worse and she would get sort
of a wheezing sound in her cough. The
couple of times it has happened, the doctor would diagnose it as Reactive
Airway Disease. I read here that it is a
general term used for children to describe a history of coughing, wheezing or
shortness of breath triggered by infection, which may or may not be caused by
asthma.
On Monday, I noticed that her and Lily were starting to get
a runny nose. Yesterday, she woke up
with a dry cough and progressively got worse throughout the day. The cough turned into shortness of
breath. The doctor put her on a
breathing treatment of Albuterol and Budesonide and it seemed to help with the
breathing. She prescribed her with some
other medication in hopes of preventing this from ever happening again. We can only hope and pray that it works. She has a follow up appointment Friday
morning.
After spending over an hour in the doctor's office, she hit the snooze button as soon as she got in the car.
There was a much needed bath time after Mia threw up the first round of yucky medicine.
This poor little angel sat so well when it came time for her treatment.
We kept her company while she did her treatment.
With love,
Angela
Get well and feel better soon Miakoy <3
